Goodbye, Skunk. We'll miss you.
Sabine and I took Skunk to see Dr. Costa today. She was able to give us a couple more months with him, but it was time to say goodbye. He was a great cat. From the day he showed up on our deck in Woodridge in 2001 he was friendly and affectionate. We're glad he found us and stayed.

I took a vacation day today so I could stay home with Skunk until we took him to the vet. I took this picture this morning.

Here he is a couple of days ago when the weather was nice enough to go outside for a bit. He always loved roaming around the backyard and never jumped the fence. He was content to nibble on the grass and sniff around the yard.
Here are a few random pics from the past eight years.

Love you Skunk. You were a sweet kitty.
I'll always remember when the three of you were living here between homes. I remember how Skunk gave Gracie fits when she would see his feet walking past the gate. But most of all I'll remember how he jumped that 4'+ gate and went snooping around. Gracie chased him under the king sized bed in our bedroom. When the opportunity presented itself, Skunk shot out of the room, jumped the two stair cases without touching the landing, and re-jumped the gate before Gracie knew what happened. I know he'll be waiting for you by the Rainbow Brodge.
