We first started watching this series on DVD August of 2006. The series originally aired on HBO (which we don't have) from January 10, 1999 to June 10, 2007 spanning six seasons and 86 episodes. The show revolves around New Jersey Mafia boss Tony Soprano and the difficulties he faces as he tries to balance the often conflicting requirements of his home life and the criminal organization he heads.

We felt the first two seasons were excellent and the remaining seasons were all very good. Most of the time each episode left us wanting to "stay up late and watch another one". However, we both thought the ending of the last episode was pretty bad.

Vanity Fare called The Sopranos the greatest show in TV history. TV Guide listed it at number 5 of the top 50 television shows of all time. If you have 86 hours to spare - we definitely think it's worth your time.
